This is a big deal, as fungi are often invisible - living underground, hidden in wood or in close relationships with other organisms, making them historically difficult to monitor and rarely included in global conservation priorities.

They are essential to life - sustaining plant growth, recycling nutrients, and supporting entire ecosystems. Yet many species remain unassessed. Urgent action is needed to assess more fungi & reduce their extinction risks - protecting fungi means protecting our planet’s future 🌏
