I did have a book published this month, but I'm also back at my day job and have had zero time to talk about it 🫠 #booksky

I tend to include some kind of charmed piece of jewelry or trinket in everything I write. A BETTER GRAVE THAN THIS is no exception. A charmed cameo holds a lot of power over several secondary characters. And on a personal note, cameo jewelry reminds me of my mom. She loved them.

A BETTER GRAVE THAN THIS tackles a long line of complicated mother/daughter relationships. They love each other. They hate each other. They blame each other. Happy Mother's Day weekend! 📚 #booksky

Spring break book 📚 Out of these Deep Cuts was my fave. Like High Fidelity meets Daisy Jones and the Six, plus I really connected with the MCs POV as I, too, can be insufferable. #booksky

Definitely one of my favorite fiction reads of the year so far. Wholly unique, and the frantic sense of being trapped in some unnatural occurrence, from multiple POVs, was really well captured. This was actually a 2nd book of a series, although it stands alone perfectly well 📚 #booksky

"The flies have conquered the flypaper" This was surprisingly hopeful! Steinbeck's showing of the soldiers' realization that their current situation--of being hated, hypervigilant, and conned--was pretty poignant. #booksky

Super excited when these library holds came in. Victorian Pyscho was a wild and gruesome ride #booksky 🩸📚

When I first sat down to write this, all I had in my head was a super complicated mother/daughter relationship and the line, "Truly Butcher was nobody's bitch." 42k words later and this novella is up for preorder 📚 #booksky #folkhorror

I get to share the cover art for an upcoming novella of mine due out later this year 😄 📚 It's a beaut! #booksky

There is nothing too egregious when one thinks they're literally battling a holy war. There is no empathy when you look at other people and see only demons. Read if you're trying to understand how we got here. Pass if the news is already too much for you 📚 #booksky

I'm a sucker for anything with a historical medicine vibe, even if it's just kind of adjacent to the real thing. As a whole, though, the book was kinda mid. Could have been my bandwidth, though, 'cause the last few weeks ain't been great! YMMV.

Finished reading King and the Dragonflies to my kids. Sure this book has themes around coming out and figuring out who you are and being brave enough to present that to the world, but phew is it about grief and letting go too. It's really a beautiful piece in so many ways. #booksky #MGreads

I picked up The God of the Woods for the cover and ended up with a great mystery that delves into class issues and what generational wealth can get away with, which...how timely. #booksky #bookrecommendation
