In the midst of all the doom and gloom going on, this is pretty poggies for trans people in Michigan. Hope it passes in Senate soon!
(Email excerpt from EQMI Equality Michigan) The Michigan House of Representatives just voted 56-0 to pass House Bills 5300 - 5303, a groundbreaking legislative package that eases the legal name change process and removes barriers for accurate gender markers on identity documents. The legislation will now head to the Michigan Senate for final passage.
