I know that this is a joke, but as someone who has a Master's degree and went on to do a PhD, I can promise that you will only graduate feeling even more frustrated, confused, and lost. Well, at least if you're an anthropologist.

This was taken from Instagram, and hasn't gotten much recognition outside of the body modification community, but Jessica Brosche, a German tourist with a valid ESTA (holiday visa permit) has been in detention by ICE for almost a month now. This is absolutely abhorrent.

Today's reading. This is the first time I'm reading an entire academic monograph in another language, and it's super interesting. I've read papers in Norwegian and Swedish in the past, but never a whole book! Fun challenge.
