Finally, our pinch hitter! Plumby contributed almost nothing during the E4, to the point that I had declared fraud. But we finally found our sweepertunity against Hau’s Vaporeon, and set up +6 to trivialize the rest of the Champion battle. He’s probably the main reason nobody died. Thanks Plumby! 😂

Finally, our pinch hitter! Plumby contributed almost nothing during the E4, to the point that I had declared fraud. But we finally found our sweepertunity against Hau’s Vaporeon, and set up +6 to trivialize the rest of the Champion battle. He’s probably the main reason nobody died. Thanks Plumby! 😂
While not the strongest of the bunch in any one area, Big Trish just has good vibes. Able to soak up a Z-Move from Olivia, score an OHKO on Hau’s Noivern, she hopped her way to victory with a good move pool and decent bulk. Most importantly, she’s cute-a! Ya need a Water type & I’m glad she was mine

Sweetface is a good all-rounder, but unsurprisingly her biggest contribution here (and during the playthrough in general) was Intimidate spamming. It’s a valid strategy! Very good at neutralizing threats, she always kept the team safe when we found ourselves on the back foot. Very much a carry Mon!

And if we’re talkin defense, I gotta mention our Physical Wall next: Rubs! He scored some of the hypest moments in the run, like tanking Kahili’s Z-Move and defeating Molayne’s Metagross. I’m very experienced w/ Torkoal’s playstyle by now, and thus I relied on Rubs a lot. A very comforting presence!

Something important to note before we get into the endgame is that Schnapps is okay! 😄 But…I decided to leave her on the bench. This was a tough choice, but I didn’t like her matchups with a lot of the E4, and also didn’t want to lose such a long-time friend. Thank you for everything, Schnapps!

But Zayndaya has come a long way in the second half of the game, and we know now that losses can be overcome. The Island Challenge is complete! I’m goin’ into full 🤓 analysis prep mode for the Pokemon League, determined to pull a win out of this game yet. I guess I’ll see ya on the other side!

Next was on to Mina’s Trial! The captains had a couple scary guys but nothing too bad, and I figured my matchup into Ribombee was decent! Otherbat was my star for this fight, bc even though Ribombee DID manage to get 2 Quiver Dances up, he lived the one Dazzling Gleam he needed to, & took the KO 🙏

Next was on to Mina’s Trial! The captains had a couple scary guys but nothing too bad, and I figured my matchup into Ribombee was decent! Otherbat was my star for this fight, bc even though Ribombee DID manage to get 2 Quiver Dances up, he lived the one Dazzling Gleam he needed to, & took the KO 🙏
Also somewhere around this point was when I caught my SECOND Shiny of the run. 🤪 Idk it’s pretty easy to do, I would simply just find them in the grass

Then came USUM’s RPG god monster: Ultra Necrozma. This was supposed to be ol’ Zachknife’s battle, but I had a tried and true backup ready too. Our Titan Rat stomped in for an Ultra Kaiju Battle, and took the win w/ Focus Sash/Endeavor/Sucker Punch. Cheesy, but eh. We’ve suffered enough already. 🤪
