Ideally, play the games in their natural order; DAO, DA2, DAI and DATV, but DAO need mods to just run in modern PCs, so you might wanna skip that one, although it is the best in terms of choices and dialogue. If you skip the first one, I would probably also skip DA2 and just start with DAI.

Yep, it is 100% possible, just got it a few hours ago. My Inky didn't even want to save Solas, and she romanced Cullen.
