Exactly! And even tho my mom tried to help me many times. Her way of doing it didn’t make sense to me and I wasn’t telling her the whole story because of shame. I had to find my own tools to make it work for me.

Thanks for your kind words! I hope it’s looking better for you and your mom 💜

Some days you won’t give a fuck, some days something is gonna make you want to give a fuck.

I don’t know if there’s another way.

But one day at a time seems about right 💜

If you’ve read all the way through, thank you.

If you also struggle with money, let me know if you need any help getting started! I’m no expert, but I really think everyone should learn how to manage their money without getting trapped by scammers. 💜

Overall, I’m only beginning on this budgeting journey. This path that has scared me for soooo long.

But I can already tell you that I am in love with it.

I feel so much more confident in taking control on where my money goes. It helps me spend my money wisely, but also motivates me to go to work.

4. I sat and wrote it all down. I started with last month’s expenses. Going through everything : checking account, paypal, subscriptions, credit cards, etc.

And I did the work. With the tools I had found, I took a little bit of time everyday to figure out how much I needed in a month. (For real)

3. Learning. I asked my mom how she did budgeting. I found ressources online.

My breakthrough came from this woman : www.instagram.com/lizbettalksm...

2. Talking about it. I had a chat with a close friend and we talked about finances openly. She is a single mom with a house and can manage easily with 2000$ a month.

I thought « If she can do it, then I can do it too ».

This is what helped me :

1. Realizing the mess I’m in (but like actually, for real this time)… for me, it’s the fact that if my car breaks down tomorrow, I’m screwed.

Since money struggles are often taboo to talk about, I just wanted to come on here and say that you’re not alone.

At 31, I’ve felt incapable and ashamed. I thought « How is this still a problem? ». But also thought that no one would be in a relationship with me for that reason.

Which is valid.

It used to be so scary and I knew it wasn’t going well, but I was avoiding the problem.

Yes, I was that person that never checked her accounts and hoped for the best, while also spending money on anything I wanted.

Yes, my credit is very bad.
