I lived in NYC for 50 years and in that time the city itself worked to destroy the neighborhood feeling, community, mutual aid, and social cohesion that have sustained Minneapolis so far. They didn't entirely succeed, and Mandami and the DSA show it can return, but it's still got a long way to go.
