The bill to save transit in Chicagoland (SB2111) suddenly just became bipartisan.

The racist Edgewater NIMBYs are having a normal one.

At least they’re finally being honest? 😮‍💨

I promise the #PlowTheSidewalks crew has a LOT to say.

But for the moment, a very late lunch, maybe a tear or two, and Malört shots in memoriam.

When we say months of political games, we’re talking even yesterday, where after we already had a bunch of volunteers lined up for Friday morning the Chair of the Transportation committee ripped the rug out from under us once again.

If you can join at City Hall at 1pm on Friday, please do!

……yes?

This is the definition of bailout. Our transit agencies are financially insolvent because the State has made them so, meaning that by increasing funding the State is meeting its obligation — not saving transit agencies from themselves.

It’s not a bailout. Period.

Kimball bound trains seem to be running.

Loop bound…I’d suggest finding another way….

Started running again, got off to run an errand, came back and…..power is cut and all trains are stopped again.

What now??

A Chicago alderman and Democrat is (once again) attacking a Jewish woman for daring to challenge our leaders for taking AIPAC and dark-money funded trips — by calling her “Jew-hating.”

And this is why some of us have never bought into the “vote blue no matter who” narrative. Who DOES matter.

Unless he’s suddenly signed a transit funding bill into law I severely doubt it.

Today at the ribbon cutting for CTA’s brand new 100% accessible Red line stations, Senator Simmons made the call clear: it’s time for legislators to get back to Springfield NOW for a special session and fully fund public transit!

We can’t wait! We have to get this done now!
July 21, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Truly these stations are incredible. CTA did an incredible job on RPM.

And seeing people already taking advantage of these stations being fully accessible for the first time in a century has proven it was worth it all!!

Good god almighty there is so much to unpack from this statement.

Many in the movement were shut out. Others shut up.

The idea that Mayor Johnson is some unsung hero in this dynamic is delusional.

It was barely raining when I went through the turnstiles and by the time I got to the platform….

Anyway, today’s 4pm transit canvassing is cancelled 😂

There’s a bike rack right up near the front gate next to Superman!

PSA: you can save a buck on CTA fare basically everyday rn if you pay with cash app

(monthly passes are better if you can afford to front-load but if you can’t right now don’t miss out bbs)

Today @gracielaforsenate.bsky.social declared this a HOT TRANSIT SUMMER — and that’s exactly the kind of energy we need in this fight!

If you want to sign up for hot transit summer, head to savetransit.org!

How do we electrify/decarbonize our transit systems?

They used to be 100% electric. We don’t need to wait for battery tech or hydrogen to “catch up.” We did this a century ago.

Wires.

It’s time for both the transit and environmental communities to collectively pull their heads out of their asses.

Let’s not mince words on exactly what the MAGA movement is.
