There's certainly something cooking there. But I feel the opposite, especially with Tekken 8. The key really is overwhelming your opponent with oppressive mixups to the point that you can't defend. While Street Fighter is more about honing your offense to a sharp samurai blade of intention action.

Yeah, but what they're lacking in characters they'll make up for in skins. Plus I think they're thinking the idea of fuses changing the dynamic of the playstyles will be varied enough. Also are you honestly going to main every single character?

The hopium is that when playing the new content, you'll be having fun. But maybe even playing content will just remind you how much you hated the story. If that's the case you might just be done. At this point your fans like you for you. Not just the game you're playing.

By virtue of calling it a spectrum, aren't we all on it to varying degrees? But for sure, there is something to be said about the ability to care and fixate on the minute strategies of different fighting games. If I could write a 3 page essay on throwing fireballs, that's something in me.

Eyepatch Wolf is the only person I've heard say anything remotely negative about the game. I've played it, and I thought it was nearly perfect. If you're curious, there is a free demo that is a great vertical slice of what the game is.
