a dream i just had
December 10, 2024 at 5:09 AM I'm standing in a blank space, holding a massive stack of papers and images that are my life. i get invited to a nice restaurant to meet up with people from high school, as well as friends i met online. as i arrive, the high school people look at me funny, save for the one who was my best friend back then and has accepted me in my transition. the internet friends are just chill as usual. i sit and we all talk, then everyone gets up and gives excuses for why each of them needs to get going. cut to a nearby tv screen - it's the last scene of some revisited sitcom's series finale. the main character (who was the eldest daughter in the original run of the show) is standing in the living room with a mail bucket at her feet, with a similar massive stack of papers and images all stacked up on one side of the bucket. the show's goofy theme song starts playing, and contrary to the tone, she looks down into the bucket with fear and sorrow on her face, knowing this is the end and fully aware that there's no way she can stop it - and then she looks right at me, as if to imply that it's my turn to add my stack of papers and images to the bucket.
