I did have this version of him before but I'm not exactly happy with it. The yellow eye doesn't make sense and idk if I like the hair like that. The other one I've shown was for an event kinda pretending everything was fine so it isn't what I'd hc either. I'll have to work smth out sometime

I'm debating if I'll keep his hair like this or if I'd add some wisps of mist still lingering around his hair somewhere... (this is not my original idea ofc. wouldn't be the first one to do it) I'd like to think that he'd have enough control for it to not cover him anymore but it wouldnt be all gone

But I will. He'll be himself in a version where things didn't go as horribly as they did, after enough time to work through the physical and mental trauma. Like, there's actual good ways to see a character off, make it feel emotional. I've had so many of my faves go but their last scenes felt like a good conclusion. This one felt like hot hair evaporating. Quite literally. (sorry, had to.)

Like. It just felt he was there to be a means to an end, to make an epic entrance for everyone else to then be tossed aside once he fulfilled his duty. Yes, him trying to protect in the end made sense, but what came right after did not.

Neither does H*zashi ever really get a chance to work through his feelings for all of this, nor does Ob+ro get an ending that feels satisfactory. Literally, when the chapter of his end dropped I was dumbfounded thinking "wait, that's a joke right? That didn't just happen?"
