It really is difficult trying to fit in after adopting a hyper independent personality - I find myself not wanting to connect to others and putting up walls because i'm so used to being alone. The loneliness never really leaves but i've pushed it so far down that i've come to accept it

I used to write down my every thought shamelessly but now I just keep quiet as to not relive moments of being cringe
