They really are shit. I switched to Community Fibre a few years ago. 1GB fibre to the premises. Since then I've experienced maybe two outages. Contract renewal was a bit painful but nothing like the Byzantine torture of trying to deal with Virgin. Defo worth a go. I can send you a referral link!
