I always thought the "price of eggs" metric that the US keeps mentioning was a bit weird as a marker for inflation, but now seeing the data I realise it's actually its own batshit insane issue. Less than two years ago a dozen eggs cost under a dollar and now they're $7.29?? Madness.

It's been fascinating to watch "DEI" become the new "woke". Similarly detached from its actual meaning and corrupted to mean "slightly left wing thing that I don't like". And by fascinating I of course mean horrifying.
