Yarn: Ancient Arts Yarn - Little Nettle Soft Fingering, in Brown Tabby
The beginning of a knitted triangular lace shawl, in a variegated brown fingering weight yarn that resembles the coloration of a brown tabby cat. It is two rounds in, so there are two rows of paw prints, one on each side of the triangle on the first repeat, then two on each side of the second round. There are removable stitch markers set in the middle yarn over increases to mark the beginning of each new round of the lace pattern. It's still on the circular needles, and stretched out a little bit on the cable to try to show the pattern that is emerging. The background is a light blue warming mitten set on a pale yellow flannel bedsheet patterned with white daisies with an orange center.

Update on purling vs knitting the garter edges:
Purling the edges seems to have given me a few extra centimeters in width at the bottom. And it's been pretty fun! (I learned how to Norwegian Purl for this!)
This is unblocked, of course. We'll have to wait and see how that goes.

Two unfinished, unblocked, Gothic Lace Cowls in a magenta yarn, lying next to each other, with the garter edges at the bottom facing each other. The second, shorter of the unfinished objects is a little bit over an inch/two to three centimeters less wide at the garter edge than the first. The first is however wider at the bottom garter edge than it is through the actual pattern. The second is more even throughout. Both are lying on a dark blue blanket.

Debating frogging my gothic lace cowl, again.
I'm four pattern repeats in, so I won't be losing that much.

I'm actually pretty happy with it?

But I just learned how to get a more elastic garter stitch edge, and I am tempted to try purling that. 🧶

A magenta scarf in progress, still on the (wooden, square, circular) needles, with a garter stitch edge, and a cathedral lace pattern repeating five times across the scarf, and four times up the scarf. There are stitch markers going across to mark each repeating lace section, and going up to show the beginning of each repeat of the lace pattern. The garter stitch border is slightly compressing the lace pattern.

Blocked, and the ends woven in!
I can see imperfections, and room for improvement, but I learned a lot, and I am happy with the results. I would wear this out of the house. 🧶

A knitted magenta cowl, folded twice, on a background of slightly irregular white polka dots on black. The cowl has ribbing at the top and bottom, and slightly over half of the visible portion is garter stitch, the rest is stockinette. There are some slight irregularities in small sections of the stockinette, and the ribbing is a little bit wobbly in spots, but it looks like a functional object overall.

The way I stuck the cable needle into this ball of yarn 🧶, I keep seeing an apple.
A hand wound ball of magenta yarn, with a purple and green wooden cable needle stuck about half way down the middle of the yarn ball, making it look like the stem of an apple, while the yarn ball is the fruit. The divot of the apple towards the top and bottom is even present, in that the yarn falls a bit towards its middle. The yarn is sitting on a black blanket with irregular white polka dots

Success!
A magenta knit cowl, half garter stitch, and half stockinette stitch, with ribbing on the bottom and top. A very, very small ball of yarn is still connected on top. A set of circular knitting needles lies on top of the cowl, which is bound off and thus almost finished.

I already miss knitting this cowl. It was both incredibly boring, and perfectly relaxing, depending on the day.

I might start another one. Maybe a short one? Or, another long one.

Accidentally playing low stakes yarn chicken:
I have five or six rows of ribbing left on the Oats Cowl. 🧶
I am knitting my way through the remainder of the yarn ball from the barley hat, and I think I will be slightly short.

It's fine though, I have more yarn!

It is on metal square circular needles, and has a small ball of yarn still attached, which doesn't seem like it will be quite enough to finish up the ribbing. It is sitting half on a black and white polka dot blanket, and half on a dark blue blanket.

Cutting marshmallow cereal bars with a cleaver is so far the most effective way I have come across.
Marshmallow cereal bars, made with cornflakes, cut into rectangles without much precision, on a piece of parchment paper. This parchment paper is sitting on a cutting board, which is placed on the gray floor.

I have been freezing cooked quinoa in a silicone butter stick mold, and I would recommend this, if it's within the energy budget.

For me, it's just the right amount to add to the other bits of things I try to keep in the freezer, to turn it into a reasonable meal.

I think Poppy is about ready to bind off.

She's just barely reached 9 inches, and I am running low on yarn.

Right now she looks more like a bag or a basket than a chicken, but presumably that will change as we go.

I started Poppy the Chicken last night. Currently she's looking more like an Easter basket, but that should change over time. And then I guess she'll be Poppy the Spring Chicken? 🧶

I think the Leaf scarf is going to be unraveled in her favor.

It turns out, you can't knit just one ruffle?
A knitted, ruffled, garter stitch scarf in spring green acrylic yarn (red heart super saver). This is a work in progress, the circular knitting needles are still attached, and coiling over the scarf. The background is pale yellow with white flowers with a yellow center, like daisies. A pile of the remaining, as of yet un-knitted yarn is also visible.

Made it a bit into the Wheat Scarf, so I think I will frog and restart, because I want to. I learned a lot from this, and I think I'll learn even more by redoing it.

Tomorrow, though. Today is a rest day.

About a fifth of a scarf, on a round knitting needle. The yarn is a purple-pink/magenta color. The pattern is garter stitch along the bottom quarter. The rest is mostly garter stitch except for a stripe of stockinette stitches running down three quarters of the length, a little bit from the edge of the scarf on the left side, and about two thirds of the way away from the right side. The stockinette stripe is about a quarter of the width of the whole scarf.

Learning about stitch markers.

I'm using the connected ones as a counter, I move it up one ring every two rows. The red pin means increase here.

This is a Sophie Scarf-esque thing, except with bulky yarn.

I really wanted to know how the i-cord thing works, so this has been fun!

A short piece of knitting with a bulky off-white yarn with black and brown flecks, still on the knitting needle, and two places with stitch markers. The first is a blue circular marker, on the needle, three stitches away from the left end, the other is a series of four blue circular stitch markers connected by bulbous safety pins in two different colors - two safety pins are purple, but the one closest to the top is red. These are also between stitches, on the needle, two stitches away from the right end.
