2/2 I have watched this spiral happen. It’s ugly and painful for the family, but it would be catastrophic for our men and women in uniform and our country. He would literally be entrusted with their lives. This job requires sobriety. It’s a non negotiable. I am disheartened that they don’t see this

1/2 That is a character issue and is absolutely important. My comments are referring to his ability to function in the job. Of course the SA allegations SHOULD disqualify him but unfortunately that side won’t act based on that. Alcoholism is a progressive disease. It’s only going to get worse.

The lies just drip off their tongues. It’s a horrible disease but they cannot be trusted until they embrace recovery. It is prevalent enough that some congress people know this. They have personal experience. And yet they bend to the will of DJT. Tribalism at its worst.

The biggest issue is his drinking. If he indeed has the problem that the evidence suggests, he is likely to spiral out of control in such a high stress position. For his sake he needs to be rejected. He needs to enter recovery. An alcoholic lies all the time.

Yes!! The personality of an addict persists if they try to white knuckle it without support and recovery. This disease took a lot from me and my adult kids. And from their dad. He didn’t quit soon enough and lost his battle. I would do anything to keep others from the same fate.

Was married to an alcoholic x32 years. They can’t quit without doing some work. If their lips are moving they’re lying. They will say anything to make you believe they aren’t drinking. Until they enter recovery, alcohol will be part of their lives. It’s not as easy as saying they will stop.
