Another one for #NormalForBelgium - cobblestones, a gilded relic, draught horses, crowds in coordinated outfits, a priest

Ugh. But have you ever seen these? They're all this tone of voice from this brand - I find it so strange (and would be hugely curious to know how it converts)

I missed the part of the Xmas story featuring Pumba the warthog? (That'll teach me to get a driekoningstaart last-minute from the supermarché)

Sharing a bit of Cape Town lore from my family to you - the sunsets on the Atlantic coast are beautiful, and if you see a green flash as the sun hits the horizon it's particularly special and good luck. Here's to a great year ahead!

Hallo Bruggeling, as my family (me) have already eaten all the cheddar we'd ordered, do you know anywhere I can get cheddar in the centrum? 🧀

Kudos to Flemish local authorities, churches etc - in this case the fancy Provincial building - for offering study venues to students for the upcoming exams

This is a really fascinating article on the history of the book retrieval technology at the British Library. And particularly poignant right now as the Library is subjected to a heinous cyber attack

This spiritually significant place for Brits in Brussels - Egmont Palace, where Ted Heath had ink thrown over him at the signing of Britain's entry to the EU in 1972 ❤️🇪🇺

Thinking I'd save myself some effort I got a shop-bought bearnaise from Le Lidl, and it's the least good thing on the plate 🥲

Buses have given up trying to get up or down here, so plan to walk or metro into the centre if that's where you're headed #BrusselsSnow

We've acquired yet another bike! If you have kids and live in Flanders, I can't recommend the FietsBib enough. €20 a year for a bike your kid can swap out any time they need a bigger one.
