It is completely irrational, but sometimes when I see Mourning Doves alone I feel bad for them. This one was perched up all by itself, not singing, just watching. 🪶

Compositionally not my favorite duck pic I got today, but my first time shooting at high shutter speed and I love how the feathers under the wing look.

Spotted this little snack thief in a quiet patch of shade, stuffing its cheeks like it’s prepping for winter in May. Soft light, wild violets, and one very focused forager.

In the later half of last year, as I pushed deeper in to my 30s, I started watching Star Trek, beginning with TNG. I maybe saw an episode here and there growing up, but I was much more in to high fantasy than Sci-Fi. The lessons of the show would have meant nothing to me then, but I def missed out.
