**She/They**

I am an artist, writer, librarian, educator, and facilitator.

I read smut, eat phó, watch Star Trek, and do karaoke poorly and loudly.
I am fully following for Star Trek costume sketches.

If it’s SFA, my suggestion is to make it over the 20 minute mark. That’s when they’re done with bridging the gap of the grungy isolation of the last franchise (Discovery) and connect it with a rise to a hopeful future centered around teaching the next generation about collaboration and empathy.

Phó and Sapporo.
Running through one of the Bridgerton Holodeck programs with some pals.

They really are well written! And I have this strange sense that some of the people who don’t like SFA either don’t like young people in general, or are trying desperately to unremember their own awkward phase.

AGREED

I was so happy to see bits of those shows in Starfleet Academy, too!

There’s still time!

I got into Farscape really late, like 2 years ago, and missed all the fun fans.

Puppets and practical effects. Chef’s kiss

Yes, and Kyle makes a cameo every few episodes before he moves in next door. Yes. Okay, who’s making this??

Now they don’t even NEED to put in the contacts. They could have added it in digitally during post production.

I love their hair story!

I’m happy these kids are solving their own problems. It’s good practice for when they’ll need to solve ours. lol

It was pretty tense between them!

I love SAM, and I’m hoping by the end of the season, it’s explained why a starter brain like that makes sense. Like the kidrobot from Expanse who learns empathy from frequent, sometimes painful human experiences or something. I don’t know, I just want the Doctor to be nice to her. Hoping for growth!

Oh, gotcha! Since I started with TNG, I didn’t really spend much time with TOS. But I regularly spout that MLK, jr. Loved TOS enough to advise Nichelle Nichols to remain on the show despite having to deal with Gene/Shatner’s sexism and racism. Made me not as eager to watch it through. I love STA!

Being held mostly by TNG, VOY, DS9. And I don’t think I’ve seen enough of TOS to say whether Klingon culture was most explored there and then altered later, or if they later iterations explored it more and should hold canon status.

Do you count all Trek after TOS as modern Trek? My starting point was TNG and I think of Modern Trek as everything that happened after DS9, which puts Enterprise as modern to me. But canonically is a prequel? But in any case, Klingon canon is ignored most dramatically throughout with consistency 1/2

2/2

I’m really digging the Klingon hairstyles and what story their hair and family structure tells. And I’m proud of Starfleet for inviting a young character to help solve problems because it’s their future, too.

I loved the dive into Klingon culture after the Burn. I love that Jay-Den’s brother knew him and loved him enough to let him be himself. I love that Lura gave Jay-Den advice as a mixed species who knows what it means to BE Klingon. I love the tension between Jay-Den and Darem AND Jay-Den and Kyle1/2

Tell me more! I’ve only watched a dozen episodes or so of TOS, so I am not familiar.
