No one has ever been by Kana's side. Not her parents. Not her friends. Not anyone. There used to be someone, but they eventually abandoned her too. She never let anyone close to her again since she was young. They all end up leaving her anyways.

She uses Kendo as an escape. She puts all her self-worth into it. During a match, she doesn't have to think about the future. She doesn't have to worry about the guilt from her past. All she has to do is focus on the person in front of her, and everything else melts away. To Juri, Kendo is her life.
