It wasn’t a faith-based rally. It was an event to whip up violence toward our queer and trans community. And it was financially supported by the City of Seattle, complete with barricades and private security. Get it right.

And it’s also a way of having no personal identity beyond “at least I am not this buffoon or his followers.”

If you really want to get out of this cycle/dynamic, you’ve got to do the work yourself.

Anyway. Be arrogant if you want to keep losing.

Democrats have been aggressively and intentionally failing in order to maintain self righteousness for decades.

That’s its own psychological sickness— standing back and feeling superior but never doing anything to make change.

When he dies, they die. When he loses, they lose.

Him being “right” is essential to their very sense of self in the world.

He’s cultivated this on purpose and millions of USians were groomed for this by their churches over decades.

They’re not going to flip a switch when he dies.

and their sense of power in the world derived from relying on “God’s” supremacy.

Even small interpersonal conflicts came down to who could better claim God’s authority.

Trump is serving the role of God for so many people right now (it’s on purpose), giving them their identity and purpose.

There are real people — not paid actors — across this country for whom Trump is God, savior, king, self.

The psychological dynamics are deep.

I remember being among church wives whose entire identity was who their husbands were,

and their husbands’ identities were who their pastor was,
