Retired, Australian, large family all grown up. Slightly left of centre whilst young, now conservative. Can see some good things in Trump's anti-woke decisions but incensed how he is treating Ukraine & rest of world, and is so egotistical.
I don't care about colour of skin, I have several Indian friends & tell them their brown skin is better suited to Aus piercing sunlight than my Anglo Saxon white skin. What does concern me is the potential for radical Islam to take over our Judao-Christian system, as I see in UK & Europe.

What troubles me most is the corruption in Ukraine, with Z's mates right in the thick of it. A Soviet style General leading the military, corruption in military buying, lack of motivation leading to some 200,000 desertions a year, I hear even western Ukraine largely leaving the east to fight it out?
December 8, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Churchill, Thatcher, de Gaulle etc would have taken real action by now. I wouldn't cry any tears at US leaving NATO, 'cept how long will it take for European "leaders" to agree on a power structure?
December 8, 2025 at 9:24 PM
Great that it worked lol.

I see I hit a nerve. But no one replied to my point that due low birth rates, there are few kids (except at Euro Disney). If indigenous peoples don't have kids, eventually they become overwhelmed by immigrants. & most European govts are only helping Ukraine to the extent it doesn't discomfort them.
December 8, 2025 at 1:17 PM
Yes, in some Eeuropean countries the kids have long school days. Re dirty, I was comparing to Australia not USA.
December 8, 2025 at 1:05 PM
Don't get me wrong, I much prefer Europe to USA. I just wish European govts would actually DO something really tangible to help Ukraine, rather than letting Ukraine do all the fighting & suffer on account of the rest of Europe.
December 8, 2025 at 1:02 PM
In reality the Natoonal Security Document (its not a strategy, I wrote 2 of them, IT Strategy not "National Security") will just serve to boost Trump's ego, then it will quietly disappear, it's not even big enough & heavy enough to be a doorstopper lol. And US will resume its role of selling weapons
December 8, 2025 at 7:49 AM
The strongest military in the world ? They can't even build a submarine. China must be very happy that USA thinks it can still beat them & their 1.4 billion compliant population. US to defend Taiwan ? Not likely, Trump would just make a deal with China & further enrich his family & friends.
December 8, 2025 at 7:41 AM
Why can't they all be like little Denmark, or the Baltics? Thank God Scholz has gone, Putins best weapon after Trump & Witkoff. The US Security Document should finally wake up Europe & rest of world, that USA doesn't care, they just want to slip into their old isolationist mode before the world wars
December 8, 2025 at 7:27 AM
And European govts full of talk but no action. If only Putin would actually attack Germany, then Europe would mobilise, of course that won't happen. Over regulated? Yes. Where are the boots on the ground in Ukraine ? And Taurus missiles ? After all, Ukraine is fighting for Europe.
December 8, 2025 at 7:23 AM
The US National Security Document is aspirational, unrealistic, full of sweeping assertions, no concrete plans to deliver. That said, I think the part on Europe is not too bad. I lived in Europe for 2 years, I love going back, but Europe is dying. No kids, full of "refugees", graffiti, dirty.
December 8, 2025 at 7:17 AM
TA, what did you do to deserve a week with the faceless clowns in Brussels, with their Gallic do-nothing "logic", plus prolly having to speak French all week? You poor man. Next time, can't you refuse to go ? I'll pray for you, even though you don't believe, God knows who you are.
December 7, 2025 at 9:26 PM
But congratulations to Norris, winners are grinners!
December 7, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Fair enough. Cricket is a game one has to play as a kid to be able to enjoy as an adult. Re F1, credit where it's due to Lando Norris, he did all he needed to do to win the drivers title. But Max showed he's not done yet. Hopefully Piastri will learn how to keep up the pressure for the whole season.
December 7, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Off topic TA, but your cricketers desperately need reinforcements in Australia lol. Next match is in Adelaide, it will be a good batting wicket so the game might go to the last day, if your guys can find someone who can play, apart from Joe Root. Funny that England taught the game to the colonies...
December 7, 2025 at 12:44 PM
As an Australian supporter of Ukraine, I'm afraid Europe must be forced to step up, enough of the words it's time for action. If France, Germany, UK et al were attacked by Russia, they'd mobilise their forces very quickly, they certainly wouldn't take till 2030. For once Trump is right.
December 7, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Certainly doesn't look good for Ukraine. Re what should you write, I'd like an in depth analysis of where Ukraine has reached in neutralising Crimea eg what's the status of Russia's air defences, their weaponry, people left. And Ukraine's preparedness to take it & how long to wait. If you have info.
December 5, 2025 at 4:38 AM
Europe is certainly sounding better and putting more money towards helping Ukraine. But if they were really all in, like WW2, they'd have boots on the ground well before now. And their decision making is still ponderously slow. Europe's full support for Ukraine is still some way off it seems to me.
December 3, 2025 at 8:26 PM
Russkis have had plenty of time to exit Crimea. Some would be forced to stay by military commanders, any that have a choice and are still there must be stupid and will eventually get wiped out. I have no pity for them but I do pity their wags and especially their children, who get no say in it.
December 1, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Sounds logical but isn't Ukraine in the process of disbanding an international brigade ? Anyone know the reason ?
November 27, 2025 at 9:16 PM
For all Trump's multiple problems, I doubt the Dems are united enough to topple him. Do Dems have a real leader ? Last time around, Dems threw every lawsuit they could at Trump but he still served out his time. As did other unpopular Presidents. You need a system like UK or Aus to sack leaders lol.
November 24, 2025 at 7:25 AM
Sports teasing aside, from what you've said it seems your father didn't spent much time developing a relationship with you, that's sad, you've done well in spite of that. ADHD, autism etc, what does it matter ? We all like your work, please keep it going!
November 23, 2025 at 12:31 PM
TA, don't be so hard on yourself. You write well, attention to detail is one reason we follow you, plus your expertise, accuracy & honesty. And you love F1, congrats on Norris win. But Travis Head, cousin of one of my friends, did well yesterday as well, didn't he, beating England in cricket. 1 nil.
November 23, 2025 at 12:23 PM
But Zelensky MUST crack down on ALL those mired in corruption, even if they're his best friends. Otherwise Zelensky will be forced from office imho. After the earlier NABU fiasco, Z must have lost a lot of support.
