I know what bullying feels like. So does my 12-year-old. That’s why this matters to me more than anything.

Today I spoke with head teachers and senior leaders across @rctcouncil.bsky.social about how More Than Flags and Rainbows can help schools and families unite to tackle bullying.

Did you know that when children are adopted, their trauma disappears?

Brilliant first day training staff in Bluestone National Park Resort on creating an inclusive experience for their guests…

Plus giving out some fun prizes for our quizzes on LGBTQ+ vocabulary.

It’s been three weeks since my last treatment for my haemochromatosis, which means my iron levels are too high and I’m dealing with extreme fatigue and aching.

In other shocking news, racists aren’t welcome in Black Lives Matters protests.

Is she also going to complain about that too?

Tomorrow at 3pm, the UK emergency alert test will sound an alarm on all phones.

If your child is neurodivergent or sound-sensitive:
–Explain it’s only a test
–Practise covering ears/headphones
–Be somewhere calm

“It’s just like a fire drill. It will be loud but quick We’ll be safe together.”

Tomorrow is our annual YES DAY — where our 11-year-old gets to plan everything to celebrate 9 years since we became a family.

From choosing the food (yes to waffles for breakfast) to picking every activity (yes to Lego at 8am), he’s in charge and we’re just here to say “YES” 🎉

Thrilled to be posting the first of our inclusive pin badges, in (possibly what I’m most excited about) our awesome new recyclable packets.

Plus, 100% of the profits go towards tackling bullying and making schools more inclusive.

Found out today that women’s surf shorts aren’t the same as men’s!

I had to pray that there wasn’t an incident 😂

There’s nothing quite like a West Wales sunset.

Actually looks like a Phoenix rising in the distance.

Thank you gay Jesus, these are the BEST flavour crisps!

If being gay is a choice, why would I choose the one where I’d get bullied as a kid?

11 made chocolate chip cookies today 🍪

I’ve missed sharing his cooking adventures since leaving Twitter, so time to start sharing his adventures here.

Baking is our favourite hobby together so lots of more coming over the summer!

Let’s clear it up once and for all the A in LGBTQIA+ does not stand for ally.

The A is for asexual, aromantic & agender. These identities deserve visibility in our community. Allies are important, powerful & needed, but allyship is about supporting others rather than being centred in the acronym.

Got my tragus pierced because my midlife crisis needed to be just this dramatic!

Never would’ve done this as a teacher - look at me now, living on the edge 😂

Why do Veterans only get one day when the gays get a month?

Enjoying a final day by the pool in Egypt, before we go back to reality…

Please tell me that we’re returning to sunny British weather!

Next time someone says “That’s so gay” and doesn’t see the harm in it, challenge them why they don’t say “That’s so straight” instead…

and watch them squirm.

Can’t be openly gay in Egypt, but can you spot the subtle sign?

Having a well needed break in Egypt with the family.

Lots of sun, gorgeous food and a lot of rest!

Thank you to everyone at Bristol Pride.

It was brilliant to meet so many of you & moving to hear what teachers & parents need to make schools inclusive. We’re on it.

Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers who gave up their day to help us speak to hundreds of people.

Your support means the world.

BREAKING: Superman is apparently too woke now.

Yes, the alien refugee raised by kind farmers who fights for justice, protects the vulnerable, and has never once punched down… has gone too far by having empathy and morals. 🙄

Sorry, did you miss the part where he’s been woke since 1938?

Feels very strange and humbling to see photos of people reading my book in the wild, but also really exciting!

Thank you for the support so far, I hope you’re enjoying and I can’t wait to hear how it helps your school more inclusive.

Still can’t quite believe it. I launched my first book at the Festival of Education – and even got to sign some copies for amazing people.

Sharing my story with so many brilliant people was emotional, surreal, and something I’ll never forget.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey. X
