Thumping is a good start! The way I learned, there are 3 parts: 1. Thump 2. Cut (leave the roots & bottom woody bit) 3. Carry in a string bag so the rest of the spores are free to fly.

I think the Democrats need to come down hard on what we've already seen.
This kind of appeal, *this* late in a rolling disaster on *this* scale, is... goofy.

I suspect because he hoped to leave it for Harris to do. Also, possibly wanted Congress collectively to give it a nod.
Legalists argue whether it's valid for him to just announce it like this, rather than finding some other step in a process. Dumf will probably try to kill it by executive order...
