Even lawyers won’t help parents. I’ve been vocal since moving here ab the shit schools/cops/city government. NO ONE CARES. Mississippi is a cesspool & NO CHILD should have to go through this shit to get a subpar “education”. ‘Pre-k to prison pipeline’ isn’t a sad joke anymore. It’s reality.

7. They take away student phones in the hallways & hold them in office so no one can film the assaults. This shit has gotten out of control & no one cares that these kids are being abused DAILY. No one cares bc there’s private schools that aren’t maj. BIPOC students. (🧵)

6. Active threats of guns on students poorly handled, parents lied to even as they’re picking their kids up. Today there were homeland security officers on campus & when questioned, staff said my husband was crazy & it wasn’t true. She “couldn’t see anything from her office”. (🧵)

5. Students are being searched for “drugs” almost daily, but it isn’t a standard search. It’s admins & security staff playing grab-ass w/ minors. They’re being inappropriately groped & told they can’t refuse to be touched in said manners. They’re req’d to touch & fondle themselves ON CAMERA. (🧵)

1. All classes (jr/sr) are basically poor ACT prep courses with no help from staff.
2. Students have no resources, neither do teachers, but it isn’t like they care.
3. Special needs students are not receiving the help and support they require.
