I went on a (Buddhist) monastery retreat this summer, and it felt like the sisters did not know how to talk about AI beyond seeing a socio-technical tidal wave coming.

I’m personally very uninterested in the culturally Christian “AI has no soul“ narrative about the technology itself, and more interested in getting to a cultural understanding about the practical impacts of things like generative AI.

It’s basically a worse (sub-)medium with an upside that doesn’t really exist anymore. I get a little irritated at how film photographers index a bit heavily on stuff that’s expensive or novel vs necessarily… good.

It’s an incentives problem. If recruiters were more targeted and higher-touch with candidates, their various quotas wouldn’t look as good. And people seriously looking for a job are going to jump through hoops and close the gaps.

We can restore at least 2019 service if we pass Muni Now, Muni Forever's community parcel tax proposal.

But Daniel Lurie is pushing his own version that would lock in cuts (in order to save millions for downtown companies like Marc Benioff's Salesforce who just got Trump tax cuts). Write a letter!

They've got really cool and varied stations! I loved Lionel-Groulx for the optimized transfers - it's stacked platforms, where each platform has an Orange-Green cross platform transfer.
