Observation: in many an anime setting. the Y chromosome is a great leveller, essentially suppressing the ability for someone to be have some special trait that is important to the story. In other words, it's mostly female characters that get to be "the cool type of guy", like horse girls.

I think you can broadly figure out whether a technology is helpful or not by seeing if you can find an instance of such in a luxury super yacht.
