wait nevermind sonic battle is rad

I'm really charmed by her even when she's been at her most one-note but yah seeing her with a much fuller range of emotions in the last few years has been really nice

now the weight of it has shifted quite a bit because we've had so many since but she still seems to (quite unfairly I think) bear a lot of responsibility for being the first female sonic character (in the games)

as far as I can tell the fandom has a really hard time navigating the nuance between "amy has sometimes historically been kind of a misogynistic caricature" and "amy is a wonderful character who made a lot of girls feel very seen"
