Don't know how to start but! Here's a dump of what I've been working on recently - a couple of character moments & concept sketches. For a project about people surviving after the end of the world and loving each other through it, even when they have been changed irrevocably :)

A young man is carrying a girl away from an area of dust and twisted spires into the foreground, where there is grass. He doesn't look happy about it and is "hmmf"-ing at the girl, who is sleeping on his shoulder. Man with a backpack and spiked bat holds back his young girl companion by the shoulder as they watch the floating creatures of the ruins start to come out for the night. The ruins are entirely grey, with rocks and huge monoliths rising out of the dust. Young version of the man from previous images is on the ground, holding his face which is bleeding. He is in an arena, with a crowd cheering in the stands and a flaming corpse behind him. Someone has stepped in front of him and is parrying a spear with their sword. Around them are piles of ash. A sinkhole has opened up in the foreground and water spills into it from an underground pipe. There is a mass of grey in the background indicating more of the destroyed-city biome whilst opposite from it there is a primitive-looking village on a hill.
