That generation defeated the Nazis.

Our generation seem to have voted them onto Staffordshire council.

This was a horrendous crime. I feel this viscerally as one of the medical staff who attended scene

The emotional part of me wants this person to suffer more for what they have done

But, this is the right outcome and I understand it. It is likely that this person will never breathe free air again

I’m going to seriously push back on this!!!

It takes a lot of delta-v to launch someone into the sun. It’s a waste of perfectly good propellant.

It needs a lot less energy to eject them permanently from the solar system, into an icy cold, distant irrelevance

I do love a good old right wing circular firing squad!!!

I’m glad that 37 people are no longer going to be directly murdered by the state.

The three who still will be have each been convicted of some horrible things. But they still should not be executed- the death penalty has no place in a civilised society

Aye- I can but try though!

This is outrageous punching down on marginalised and vulnerable people.

Hoping a direct and personal letter to my MP might sway her to do something right.

But she’s a Tory… 🙄

I’ve written to my MP. Unfortunately she’s a Tory who probably won’t do anything.

Unless you live in Wes Streetings constituency, these are unfortunately likely to be ignored. And even then they tend to ignore copy and pasted letters

www.writetothem.com is the easy way to get this to your MP

This seems harmful, unnecessary and cruel- a political knee jerk, which harms a vulnerable group, using poor quality discredited evidence as a cudgel

Soon?

I would have thought the vast gaping emptiness in their shrivelled soul driving their desperate “pick me”-ism, hoping that the cult of a weird, callous billionaire gives their life a semblance of a purpose would already qualify as “really sad” by any normal metric!

Interesting. The climatic issues are one thing- but I personally never got on with Des even when we still had it!

Indeed. However, compound A less relevant in humans. Fluoride/ HFIP isn’t an issue in shorter case- but potentially for longer term ICU sedation doi.org/10.1007/s005...

Volatile anesthetic agents are increasingly widely used for critical care sedation. There are concerns that sevoflurane presents a risk of renal injury when used in this role. RCTs comparing the use o...

I’m interested in why the authors chose Des for the volatile arm?

I’m aware of a lot of similar work using sevo with a similar lack of effect

Aye, indeed. I’m impressed for once with the HoC. It’s entirely correct that this was an individual free vote rather than partisan.

It’s apparent that they’ve taken their time and taken this appropriately seriously.

This must have been a difficult decision for each individual MP. I personally think that they have done the right thing here, and giving choice to individuals who wish to use it

I’m hoping that these cases will be very rare

As a Brit, I empathetically feel the pain of being in the correct 48%

Got to be Terry Pratchett!

Great author, and by all accounts a decent person too
