The #chess world has a new World Champion, the 18 year old Gukesh. Congratulations on his victory, and a worthy one through his tenacity and resilience. Many players would have broken after game 12, but Gukesh held his nerve.

This is one player at the start of an amazing career...

I haven't done an intro, so ... umm...

I'm a retro-gamer and collector, for the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC. (My modern gaming journey stopped after Neverwinter Nights and Morrowind on the PC)

I also collect chess books. I have delusions of playing chess tournaments again.

I'm also tracking my progress in a Notion database. Recording the date, score, the puzzle rush URL and the URLs of the three puzzles I got wrong.

So I can visualise my progress. And scrape the failed puzzles into a chessable chapter, so I can drill them later.
