With sadness and great love, my sisters and I want to share that our mother, Jeanette Engel, passed away peacefully at home on November 17th. Visitation and funeral beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, November 22nd at Shrub Oak United Methodist Church, Shrub Oak, NY

No demo reno from space. Oops, DJT lied about not touching the East wing! Can a tenant do that when the landlord is the American people???

Working on plumbing skills. Today I replaced the broken handle. Upgraded to brushed nickel to match faucets. First step is to watch a You Tube video and then BAM! it was easy. NMN-no man needed.

I love America. I hate Trump and his cronies. That is why I will participate in No Kings Day.

Crappy news in the headlines. So seemed a good time to install new toilet seats and lids. Turns out all I needed was a screwdriver and some time, not a handyman. #NMN (no man needed)

Back at my mom's for several weeks. The oxygen concentrator is humming and she is watching tv comfortably. Today's adventure was a trip to the DMV to renew her driver's license. She aced the vision test and now we can keep the car registered. Kinda scary you can arrive in a wheelchair and renew.

This is 65! I'm where I want to be. Friend, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, lover. I may have bruises and holes in my heart but I choose the light. The light in my mother's eyes, and the sparkles of my grandgirlies mischievous eyes. My children's eyes. I choose the light.

So tomorrow I will be officially old. As in Medicare eligible old. Actually it started on August 1st. No more copays (I have secondary insurance through my union retirement plan- Go union) for the rest of the year. Which is great considering the wretched shape I'm in.

Karl: The transformation has been gradual and unmistakable.

By February, some golden urns on the mantle.

April, gold adornments appear on the walls.

By July, it's gold everywhere.

Just this week more scaffolding popped up, even more new gold trim appeared.

If the heart is unable to pump blood back up the legs (venous insufficiency) guess where else it can't get the blood flow up! Yup! erectile dysfunction is one of the many side effects of venous insufficiency! And Viagra and Cialis are contraindicated...floppy cockwomble...

Arrived home from a two week stay with my mom. In which she was hospitalized for four nights for congestive heart failure, kidney failure and stomach pain. Second trip to ER and admission in three weeks. Time for palliative care. So hard to leave and so hard to stay. Wherever I am it feels wrong.

I wanted to scream into the abyss but apparently there is a line and I hate waiting.

The sniper/shooter in Idaho was NOT an immigrant or a drag queen. Watch how fast this story fades. Nothing to see just a radicalized white man shooting at fire professionals fighting a brush fire he started. The narrative doesn't serve the current administration so it will just disappear.

The only person happy about Trump and his insane war and foul rantings is Sean P. Diddy!!! No one is paying attention to his sex, drugs and freak out trial. Trump bombs Iran and dropped the f-bomb on tv and everyone is losing their minds. Yes, Puff Daddy is so happy....

Could we just see the Epstein file and get over it? That way Trump can just go back to being the worst president ever and stop getting the US into wars.

What all the pictures and crowd counts and clever signs can't convey was the exuberance of the crowds. The joy, the determination and the willingness to come out in droves despite the heat or rain.
The crowds were filled with people choosing love over hate.
That is what scares Rump the most.

Just want to take a moment to shout out the international reporters helping us get the real story out. When an 80-year-old veteran with a walker is hauled off with his hands zip-tied behind his back, and the media spins it as a “threatening breach” of a police barricade

Trump-worst weekend ever. His birthday parade was a dud. And today is Father's Day-doubtful any of his kids even bother to send a card. I guess I understand why he leaves the White House every weekend to golf. Nobody loves him here. Squeak, squeak!!

WTAF????
HAPPENING NOW 🚨: LAPD in full riot gear has arrived to back up DHS agents trapped inside a federal government parking structure.

The crowd’s been ordered to disperse.

This just escalated fast.

Mom and I dispatched a mouse before breakfast. She calmly snatched it up with a bag, tied a knot in the top and I tossed it to the trash cans. We scrubbed our hands; she ate a breakfast of juice, coffee and French toast and fruit. I have been assured that this mouse was not a friend of Cinderella.

Once again in New York and this morning we were graced with the presence of this doe and her fawn. The fawn was galloping across the back yard but mom stood still for a moment. Life in the suburbs.

Considering that both Kermit and Trump have a hand up their butt; Kermit was a much better motivational speaker!
I bet Kermit hung around long enough to shake flippers with some of the graduates. Trump left West Point so fast his hair was ruffled.

Random crone at a SCA event in the Shire of Roxbury Mill. Yesterday was the perfect antidote to the madness of current times. No media, no phones, just warm breezes, and sun dappled light across a grassy meadow. Folks in garb conversing and learning and feasting!
