I don't think so - the Schengen Area hasn't all converged, and finances aren't the only reason people move (or stay where they are). Maybe places with more resources should be catering for more people anyway, as this would reduce global financial inequality in a per capita way?

Those moments of discovery are definitely worth celebrating! I have in the past compared research to panning for gold - a lot of wading through cold water in hope of finding something valuable.
