Dr Pete Knapp left air quality research to make this film. He is a member of Scientists for Extinction Rebellion, and made this crowdfunded, non-profit film with two main aims:
•⁠ ⁠telling the stories of people on the frontlines of wildfires
•⁠ ⁠stopping fascism

It shows how community, direct action, protest, rewilding, and closer connections with nature are key tools to suppress these forces and to build a more resilient future.

The new documentary Fires and Fascism shows the causes of wildfires in southern Europe extend beyond climate change, but also link to big business, organised crime, and the far right.
