On this EP she has moved from her standard ambient techno styling to a beat focused club style. Probably not what most of her fan base were expecting, but EPs are great times to experiment and I think it works well.

A lovely little 5 track EP that continues Skrillex's strong revival. It has the dubstep moments you would hope for, but plenty of more "grown up" dance music tying it together.

On their first album since the tragic loss of Dave Jolicoeur they are unsurprisingly focusing on the pain of his absence and the joy of his existence. There's a ridiculous selection of guests and they manage to produce a very fitting tribute.

This EP came out in February and I completely missed it. A fabulous mix of the harsher side of IDM and the floatier side of hyperpop. It sounds completely massive and I'd recommend it to any fan of electronic music.

One of the greats of the modern experimental electronics scene returns with some chilled out (but still plenty glitchy) IDM. If you want something that manages to be relaxing and engaging then this is a must listen.

One of the greats of the modern experimental electronics scene returns with some chilled out (but still plenty glitchy) IDM. If you want something that manages to be relaxing and engaging then this is a must listen.

This doom folk project gives us another collection of moody menace that is punctuated by beautifully delivered poetic vocals.

A lovely mix of instrumental dark techno that mixes in industrial and IDM. Clark tends to make great electronic music, and I'm happy to say that this was no exception.

A less experimental album from the duo who always have incredible rhythm and lyrics. I prefer them when they are being weirder with the production and think this suffers a little from The Alchemist's very good, but familiar style.

This is another great release from the Sacred Bones label. It is dark, brooding, and experimental. All things that I tend to enjoy in an album and here it is being pulled together beautifully.

This new project from the Crutchfield sisters has them returning to the sounds of their earlier projects. There's a bit more of a band feel to their alt country sound and if you like Swearin', early Waxahatchee, or Wednesday. Not always my favourite style, but this lot do it well.
