Found some Haranir hanging out at the world trees 👀
Gossip text for the Haranir at Vordrassil: This ancient tree was severed from the Rootways. Sitting here, communing with the spirits, I can understand why. There is something wrong deep within its roots. Something ancient, far more ancient than the tree itself. I am told the source of corruption was destroyed, but long after the tree was felled. I will have to see what our ancestors knew of this. That tree was to be a guardian born of benevolent act. Now, only a shadow remains here, and a towering stain on a distant dream. The gossip text for the Haranir at Nordrassil: Being here, seeing the tree, I now understand. The tree is more than the sum of its roots. This is true for us as individuals, as well as for our people. We are part of this world, and the goddess would have wanted us to see her glory. The isolation of our people should be as yesterday's breeze. What the Haranir at Teldrassil has to say: That once magnificent tree, far off in the distance, its bark singed, the pain and trauma soaked down to its roots. I remember the day. A dark day not so long ago. For a time, many of us were as damaged as the roots. Meditating about it over here, seeing the sight with my own eyes, and learning of the story... <Or'jan inhales and then exhales heavily.> Such a tragedy. What the Haranir at Shaladrassil says: The corruption is fading away. There is a distant song of cleansing surrounding its branches. When the guardian became corrupted we shared the story with our young, yet we did not come to the guardian's aid. My people became blind to the world, shrouded in our beliefs, locking everyone out, letting the world that surrounds us burn in countless perils. Coming here has shown me that, in some ways, we have failed the goddess. But it is not late. It is never too late.

deeply obsessed with this local story in Voidstorm that has entirely different text depending on if you're on a draenei or not because you're dealing with draenei from one of the intermediary planets they visited between Argus and Draenor!

The non-draenei version of the first quest in the Nethersent local story. It says: <The draenei first tries to speak to you in his native tongue, adapting after you fail to respond.> Men of Void take us to here. Come from sky. Fighting, killing. Want to go back. Help brothers and sisters. Show you. The draenei version of the first quest in the Nethersent local story. It reads: <The man calls out to you in your native tongue. His accent is unfamiliar to you.> A sister of Argus! Kin of mine! Lost to us for ages, surely you hail from the... No, my questions can wait. There are more pressing matters. These domanaar kidnapped us from our world. Portals opened, and they poured forth from the sky. They force us to fight and die in their arenas for their amusement! I escaped, only to be captured again trying to help my people. My elder sister, Tul'amar, has a plan to get us home. Set me free, and I'll take you to her. Draenei-specific dialogue in the Nethersent local story: Thousands of years separated from our kin on the Genedar has a way of carving rifts between us. I should explain. Many of us followed our Prophet Velen in his great flight away from Sargeras's Legion. Perhaps you know the many worlds we sought refuge upon. Perhaps you stepped foot upon some of them yourself, as we did. Worlds of snow and ice, of mist and bush, of endless oceans. No world we could settle for long. The Legion came, as always, and I and others who could not promptly return to our dimensional ship were left behind. We watched the Genedar drift into the sky until it was nothing more than a glimmering dot. And then, gone. Since then, we have survived in the Great Dark Beyond. Alone. When asked where the Nethersent draenei are from, this is the dialogue response, which can be accessed by both draenei and non-draenei alike: Nashabor. Settlement of Blades. It is a world of natural beauty. Crimson salt plains give way to cool, purple lakes. Our rivers re choked with huge, sturdy lillypads. The sight of a draenei napping upon one, drifting downstream is common in times of peace. Our young learn to fight early, far earlier than they did on Argus. Martial and arcane skill is essential to survive attacks from its great, intelligent beasts. We have been through cycles of strife and renewal. We have made unlikely allies of Legion defectors who live among us in small number. And we have largely rejected the forces that began our great flight in the first place -- be they fel, Void, or Light. Our sayaad are naturals at jed'hin. They are a pleasure to spectate.

a little fun fact you may have missed: the Maisara Caverns dungeon in Midnight canonizes more RPG lore! In Lands of Conflict, the Maisara Hills are a subsection of Zul'Aman "sacred to the trolls" (though it doesn't really say much more than that).
A list of all the dungeons available coming in the Midnight expansion. They are Windrunner Spire, Magister's Terrace, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, Maisara Caverns, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, and Nexus Point Xenas. An excerpt about Maisara Hills from the Lands of Conflict RPG: The Maisara Hills, in northeastern Zul'Aman, are sacred to the trolls. Crude totems stand in profusion and lean crazily in the soft earth. Witch doctors frequent this site, holding strange rituals and dances by moonlight. The voodoo masters brook no intrusion. Voodoo fascinates me; the art is arcane, but seems to have divine elements as well. I figured the Maisara Hills would be an excellent place to expand my knowledge. I am positive I made no sound as I crept into the area, but the trolls noticed me anyway. Magic, I suppose. I fled as spears, axes, and magical blasts rent the air. I hate trolls. Perhaps I could capture a witch doctor and pry the information out of him.

one of my favorite parts of the cinematic is knowing what Liadrin had to go through (losing her faith in the Light, becoming a Blood Knight & viewing the Light as a tool she could force to do her bidding, then having her faith restored) to get to *this* point where she puts all hope in the Light

And the only Nexus-Princes we see on K'aresh in 11.2 are aligned with the Shadowguard.

Now, we don't see any of the other Nexus-Princes we've met, but I'm pretty sure we killed 6 of the ethereals on this chart, so uh.... who else in the Ethereum is there to even bring back?

this is where we get into gentle spoiler territory

We knew in TBC that Nexus-King Salhadaar and the Ethereum were aligned with the Void... but what we didn't learn until 11.2 is that Salhadaar was aligned with the Void from the *start*. And that he created the Shadowguard.
A dialogue exchange between Alleria and Locus-Walker in 11.2 Locus-Walker says: King Salhadaar rallied the oracles of K'aresh to his side. They thought to save the world. They almost doomed it. We did not know at the time that they king had given an oath to the All-Devouring. Alleria says: So his hunt in Outland for Dimensius was just--a ruse? Locus-Walker says: A ploy. He radicalized those in the Ethereum seeking out the fragments of Dimensius, for later conscription. The death of Salhadaar did not end the ascendancy of the Shadowguard as many in the Consortium had hoped.

So we learn in TBC that the Ethereum is the ruling class of ethereals, but that they disagreed over how to deal with Dimensius and disbanded. Each of the Nexus-Princes went their separate ways and formed their own organizations, including the Consortium!
Commander Ameer's gossip text in Netherstorm in TBC: "The Ethereum were the ruling class of ethereals on my homeworld of K'aresh. Tragically, we were forced to evacuate K'aresh shortly before Void Lord Dimensius unleashed his void armies upon the world and utterly decimated all that stood in his way. For this act, the Ethereum have vowed vengeance. They have been tracking Dimensius ever since... The Protectorate, however, were not a reaction to Dimensius. We were a reaction to the Ethereum." Commander Ameer's gossip dialogue from TBC: "The Ethereum have grown dark... twisted. Vengeance has become their only recourse, and any that would stand in their way or not join their cause are considered enemies. Many saw that the Ethereum were plummeting into madness and left. Several of the Nexus-Princes of the Ethereum council abandoned the Ethereum to form other groups and factions with different goals. The Consortium are one such example of an off-shoot group. The Protectorate are another..."

So we don't really know when Craishae abdicated, but given that she spent a lot of time exploring after stepping down (to the point that she became little more than a legend), she probably didn't reign for her whole half-elf lifespan, however long that may be.

- that Craishae was the oldest of her human father's children (making her the heir) and her mother was a noblewoman from Quel'Thalas. But also, that Thoradin's Wall (built during the Troll Wars) had already been standing for generations.

The warrior artifact text later says that Thoradin abdicated his throne when he got old (rather than when he died). Beyond that, we don't know much else other than what Faerin's short story tells us about Craishae -
