A work in progress. Procrastinator.
The referendum on becoming a Republic in 1999 - despite overwhelming support, Howard managed to twist the outcome of the convention to put forth a model no one would accept.

If not for Howard, we could be a republic. The manipulation was a hallmark of his entire Prime Ministership.

If unrealised share holdings can't be taxed, then they can't be used as leverage.

I would hope that if GST were to apply to private health insurance, that the lifetime health cover would also be removed. We're basically penalised by the government for not taking private health, then to be forced to pay GST as well...

Around then, my parents started taking short vacations by themselves, meaning I had to do it all. Gave me a sense of responsibility because it was 'my' house for those periods.

But yes, as a parent of a teenager too, our biggest annoyance is the inertia.

I remember being like that at the age of 16/17... content to let mum do everything, even though I knew how to do it all. It was more about the lack of need and a sense of no ownership rather than incapability.

And I hope you find it. Western mens 'fashion' is so mediocre. I've had to buy shoes marketed at 'women' just to find something interesting. It's like shoes, pants, jackets, or shirts are all just narrow reinterpretations of the same bland theme.

It's all Beau Brummell's fault.

Remember when every TV in the 10's was 3D... reminds me of that, but far more annoying and intrusive.

Is this, like, a real world example of the Laffer Curve???

Screenshots tell a far less compelling story though. Like, "Yes my monitor has finger smudges on it - what of it?" makes for a far better citation then "As per figure 1"...

Even when they lose, the LNP manage to mess things up.

I think we're all just waiting to see if the Montague Street bridge has anything to say about Liberal vans before making a final decision.

Been enjoying The Library Trilogy by Mark Lawrence... it's not going to rock your world, but what's not to love about fantasising about living in a library so old and large it's the last recognisable sign of civilisation?

Oh. No no no no no. Having just signed into BritBox, let me tell you that detective shows made in the UK must make up a significant percentage of their GDP...

Dear, John.
Of course not. Expectations of quality of a hated thing shows you still care. It is, after all, how politics works.

¡Hola Papi!
I hate writing, but it's my occupation and I'm good at it. I could use AI, or exploit my thousands of social media fans to do it for me, but is it wrong to still demand quality for something I hate?
Judgingly yours,
John.
