Honestly, I'd be very curious to see how the chips industry is affected wrt costs, in case there ever was any regulation dictating sand mining.

Alongside oil, chips have always been a strong geopolitical tool. Lobbyists could possibly have another thing to contend with if the costs increase

I'm often thinking why there's a general lack of heavy music uptake in culture right now, and feel like a large reason why is because of change in teenage behaviour driven by tech.

In the past, metal/rock was usually adopted by teenagers during their adolescence and it stuck with them for life.

There is a fine line between technological advancement and privacy infringement that's very easy to cross, and that's being crossed so rapidly that we are collectively not realising it soon enough.

Gonna be listening to all of Opeth's 19 albums this weekend. Been on my weekend bucket list for far too long. Lets do this.

Been experimenting with Suno AI a lot recently. Genuinely impressed with a few things.
- the UI feels intuitive.
- big fan of the lyrics creation tool
- like how there are separate workflows for if you want to give a vanilla prompt or want to provide more specific details regarding lyrics, sounds.

If x402 actually takes off, I'm really excited to see how it changes the subscription business. For me personally, would love if there's a use case to use x402 enabled in media in place of paywall/subscriptions.

I’m actually bullish on this but also specifically curious how it impacts targeted ads. If a company tracking every micro-interaction with their bot, it provides so much granular and impactful behavioural data to advertisers that was all speculative pre-AI.

God the internet is turning diabolical. 😩

AI slop hitting YT.

History videos by AI are surface-level, inaccurate and mimics the voices/tonality of some actual Youtubers! Such channels seem to be gaining subscribers quickly + affecting viewership and discoverability of actual Youtubers.

Since I was young, my reading habits have always revolved around books and longform articles, more leaning towards the latter. I am still comfortably reading books and I will continue doing that heavily. However, I find myself summarising most of longform now via AI.

Finally joined here. Been a Twitter user for over 15 years, saw and experienced all its various evolutions but it's really gone to the gutters now. Way too many bots and a gamified algo. Hoping this place is better.
