Yeah I think it just ends up being a background which actually means they stay silent. I promise you they aren’t relaxed lessons! I wouldn’t use this with all classes though so, as with most things, it doesn’t work for everyone.

Phones are v problematic. Thankfully we have no phones on them all school day! I just sometimes play music without lyrics in the background from the classroom computer.

I find it helps concentration during deliberate practice. But of course everyone’s classroom & every class is different. I hope you find things that work for your Year 11s.

This is a good point. I have reached out and started marking plans to meet up with friends. I find I get sucked in by autumn term and don’t emerge till Xmas! This year I’m aiming to prevent this and being proactive.
