Will I ever, it's been sitting in the bookshelf for an eternity like so many others, and when I think of all the books I couldn't take with me when I moved from Hamburg to Munich, my heart still aches.

The book is about the conflicts and the lives of two aristocratic families in England in 1911, just before the First World War, which is already casting its shadow ahead and the upheavals that have occurred in social life during that time.
