Optimist. Montreal.
Move slowly and with care. ❤️
My hot take: Steven Guilbeault should run for the leadership of the NDP. Not often a winning party, but one with a long history of principle and leaders who walk the talk.
J’ai informé le premier ministre de ma décision de démissionner comme ministre de l’Identité et de la Culture canadiennes, ministre responsable des Langues officielles, ministre de la Nature et de Parcs Canada, ainsi que comme son lieutenant au Québec.

This is a rant into the void: I CAN'T STAND IT when websites and apps push a bunch of pop-ups, and did you know about our new thing, when all I wanted to do was the thing I logged on to do! Leave me alone and don't make me click 3 irrelevant things before I can do what I came here to do. Thanks.

Can we petition Pierrefonds-Roxboro to demerge? I really don't see how people who live 45 minutes from downtown have a say in how the city is run.
It wouldn't change the outcome today -we're cooked- but still.

I love this squirrel. I see it all over my neighbourhood, but this one takes the cake, with its Montreal logo necklace and... Are those have signs lol 🐿️✌️

Check out this Halloween skeleton at the Atwater market, enjoying the colourful flowers. It looked so happy!

This is from a hike earlier this fall, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Mont Ham. You can't tell from my video but the colours were beautiful along the route, especially through Orford and Bromont.

The view from the top of Mont Loup Garou (werewolf mountain, in French) in the Laurentians, this weekend. Yes, it's past peak colours. It's a nice 2-2.5 hour hike through woods and there's a cabin at the top if you want to stop for lunch. #hiking #Québec

Squirrel. The cute kind.

It's past peak colours up in the Laurentians. Still beautiful and splendid for a hike and a spa day. This was at Mont Loup Garou (means werewolf in French).

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a bike ride along the Chambly canal.

It was a beautiful day for a bike ride on the P'tit train du nord. Traffic was yucky, though. Why can't we have good public transit to the Laurentians on weekends?

Beautifully moving account of Dr. Balfour Mount's life and legacy. I worked at his McGill Palliative Care Conference and even that was truly inspiring. Legend.

Oh yeah! I did this on Sunday. My plan was to take the kids to Mont St Hilaire but I was too late and all the tickets were sold (darn environmentalists, protecting the darn environment from too many visitors, argh) so I pivoted: a walk up to the Outremont summit of Mount Royal, through the cemetery

Always fun to bike under the Champlain bridge. Looks like they're working on something to make the area more of a destination. #Montreal #cycling

Fun stuff happening at Le Rendez-vous, in NDG, Girouard park. There's a bar, an ice cream parlour, food for sale, and sometimes dj dance parties or live bands. Tonight was a lot of fun with some good news bags from @vaniercollege.qc.ca such as Dahlia and Photobomb 👌🎤 #Montreal

What is even happening? I couldn't find harissa at Super C (ok) or PA (whaaa) today. What kind of world are we living in?? I'm gonna have to make my own🌶️

Netflix was pushing Crazy Stupid Love on me, a 2011 movie with Ryan Gosling and Steve Carrell, so I watched it with a friend last night. We had both watched it almost 15 years ago and forgotten most of it. It's fun, but problematic, in the way that a lot of movies can be over time. In particular

@cyclefunmontreal.bsky.social Have you biked from Chambly to St Jean sur Richelieu? I see there's a 20km path along the canal, and I'd like to take my kids. Just wondering what stops we might make along the way, if you know the path. Are there places to get food, snacks?
