the thing about weed is that while you cannot overdose on it, you can absolutely hit a point where you're simply pissed off that you're still high, and a 100mg edible is so far beyond that point that i would only wish it on my worst enemies

i mean, AOTC and Phantom Menace were popularly regarded as the worst of the films until Rise of Skywalker, and people love Rogue One despite it being a movie with an exceptional first act, a second act in search of a story, and a third act that's more fan service than movie

it suffers from having a journeyman director and Lucas deciding he didn't want to continue the series so he tied up loose ends in a sloppy fashion. Leia wasn't meant to be Luke's sister, the next movie was meant to be them searching for his sister, the ewoks were originally wookies, etc.

i agree, it's not AS good as Star Wars or Empire, it's needlessly slow at some points, but the throughlines with Luke and Vader specifically are so good that, combined with the oft imitated ground/space/space station battle climax, i'd say it sticks the landing very well

okay so i like the Ewoks vs Empire. the ewoks planning to cook the protagonists and only stop when Luke uses the Force to make them think 3PO is a diety, no thank you. i will always stan the baby ewoks who get frightened during story time though

i don’t see the point in comparing the two, especially since LOTR was made long after Star Wars had become a cultural juggernaut and had undoubtedly influenced the filmmakers of LOTR

Return of the Jedi didn’t stick the landing?? Jabba’s palace, the space battle over Endor, Luke vs Vader? The only thing that brings it down is the Ewoks, and they’re not nearly enough to derail the movie
