That is incorrect. Non-immutable characteristics (e.g. religion) can most definitely be protected.

Serious question then, Colin: are there any gendered spaces left that trans people are allowed to use, in your opinion?
Specifically about bathrooms: don’t you think shoving trans men into women’s bathrooms (and vice versa) will cause a lot more problems than it solves?

Anyways, I could go on, but in short I think there is a reasonable middle ground, and I am wondering if that is what you are shooting for, or if instead you want to make our lives miserable?

I’ll note that I’m onboard with the recent “no male puberty” rules that most sports associations have adopted. A fair compromise imo.
As for prisons, obviously rape/SA committers, especially those who “discover they are trans” after having been arrested, should never be allowed to transfer.
