The Raptor: an spec-evo species made by @second-sol that i got commissioned! It was really fun to play with the pattern and test my skills at making raptor-like creatures.

At the side, a 137cm gentleman from this universe and an average 175cm human.
A ‘raptor’ is a creature that resembles a dinosaurian raptor, but unlike their namesake, these creatures descended from a hexapedal ancestor, meaning that they are six-limbed. Raptors are most similar to avians in nature, but their short wingspan renders them unable to achieve true flight. Instead, their wings are used primarily as cover, as their normally smooth hide is capable of changing color and texture to blend into their background. While they prefer to use ambush tactics, raptors are fully capable of planning and executing sophisticated hunting strategies together with the rest of their tight-knit pack, which is led by dominant matriarch.

Wingei's short-faced-bear. A commission for @pedrohenriquetunes Made in late 2024, this commission was my take on one of the many species of bear across South-America, which people commonly assume that no bear could even live there or there isn't no actual bear species around. Then i present to you the Andean Bear, the last remaining Short Faced Bear (Tremarctine) species on the Americas: but back then there was many more bears with different ranges, sizes and diets across South America. This reconstruction was conducted by Pedro, but with a bit of my touch and style on the animal. A more light colored coat with black reminiscents making homage to some Andean Bear specimens with more lightly colored areas(Pedro's suggestion): trying to imagine a bear that lived from the Caatinga biome(a savannah-like biome, therefore being in contact with some degree of heat) of Brazil(being the predominant species of Bear around here), the Argentinian Patagonia and Mexico. Arctotherium wingei had a predominantly omnivorous diet, ranging from scavenging carcasses to eating vegetables. Pedro has a passion for bears, and his current work and studies circle around these beautiful creatures. This piece won't be the last about bears, with more coming along regarding these animals.

Here's a commission i made for @AlorLeonel featuring his speculative big cat, the Double-Fanged-Cat!
Diplomachairodus triantafillos (The Rose Double-Fanged-Cat) Diplo-machairodontinae (dual knife in greek) or Diplomachairodus is a big cat tribe known for having the unusual two-pair of elongated canine teeth on both sides of their upper mandibles, a much more extreme adaptation compared to those of more commonly known Saber-Tooth cats such as Smilodontini and Homotherini tribes. Differently from their close relatives, this family has only one extant member alive and he's the only cat within this lineage as we know it. Also called as Amur-Double-Fanged-Cat, Giant-Rose-Tiger, Imperial-Leopard or King-Leopard: this cat is one of the largest cat species alive today, if not the largest: being perfectly adapted to Taiga-like forests and mountainous regions.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Homotherium latidens. The Scimitar-tooth Cat, remade and reconstructed based on the unique saber-tooth cub of Yakutia.
Yesterday i was caught by surprise by a study that showcased to the world the first glance of a Saber Cat with flesh and blood. Homotherium latidens is once again described on the Late Pleistocene, in the form of a cub. This reconstruction takes into consideration the pigmentation loss and eventual differences on adult and younger individuals, applying a lighter pelt than the one described by the study. This was made by comparing cubs and adult individuals from modern cats, then stabilizing which features are more common and those who are not. Afterwards, i used my color palette and color identifications to measure the differences in tones by %. Eventually, i had to deal with the permafrost mummified state which certainly degrades the original colors. So, from the cave lion cubs previously described, i tried a way to restore. And finally, i used the "restored" calculated colors to produce adult colors following the patterns and measures in the first step. I'm still speechless, i can't believe i had the chance to see a Saber-tooth, an animal long gone, now feeling so alive and near: despite still being extinct. I wish that i can atleast see one walk and grow one day.

The Dire Wolf, Aenocyon dirus.
Art by me. Size comparison between a very large specimen of Dire Wolf, being 90cm at the shoulder and perhaps more than 160cm long: between the 80-100kg range. You being a Jon Snow of 175cm, scale bar of 1m. Let's get straight to the point: wolves are some badass animals, how can we imagine a different canid that approaches their reputation and mighty force? Well, in fact, there was one. Aenocyon dirus, better known as the Dire Wolf. Once thought to be a different species of Canis, now believed to be an entirely different animal: far different than the gray wolves we know. Nevertheless, this doesn't stops Aenocyon from being one of the most incredible animals of the Pleistocene. Dire wolves aimed for large prey and were adapted to a more bone-cracking diet (Anyonge and Baker, 2006; DeSantis et al., 2015). Weighing around 50-68 kg (Anyonge and Roman, 2006), dire wolves overlaped with the size of Hyenas. (C. crocuta ultima, ~63 kg). Horses and bison were, on average, the most important prey species for this species. Exceptional individuals could reach about 110kg (Anyonge and Roman, 2006; Sorkin, 2008). The specimen utilized for this reconstruction is a very large A. dirus dirus(Eastern subsp.) based on a fragmentary mandible. Skull lenght for the largest dirus could be from 27-31cm. Smaller canids were the primary font of inspiration(as appointed and suggested by @8Bit_Satyr, which has been helping me!) as seen in my time-lapse video: combining with a more reddish/orange canid look that was cited on the newspaper that showed the reclassification of A. The American Cheetah, Miracinonyx trumani.
Roughly 90cm at the shoulder, representing an 60-80kg powerful cat alongside a human and pronghorn. Read somewhere that they could possibly surpass 100kg, although i don't have the source to provide. Pronghorn are one of the fastest animals on earth, and are considered one of the most fascinating examples of predator-prey relationship to study and possible coevolution. Why? Despite having bears, wolves and cougars: only one extinct predator was capable to give them some creeps. The American Cheetah, that despite its name, is more closely related to the modern day cougar. A cat that lived through North America's plains, valleys and even canyons. He didn't have the retractable claws, nor a extremely specialized cursorial body adaptation like the cheetah and the most important of all: those cats were fighting for life frequently, differently than the more "peaceful" cheetah. You can see the scars on his face that i added. To add furthermore on this cat's profile, in fact Pronghorn was one of his prey species: but not the exclusive one. The "combination" of an ability to grapple and the development of a slight cursorial anatomy give us a image of a truly unique cat. This reconstruction was a PAIN to do, because even though Cheetahs and Cougars do look a like: they strongly differ at the same time. Given the intermediate lim morphology, i tried something long but strong: a back lower than a cougar's but very strong and long legs. The markings on the head needed to be unique, so i took the most prominent markings on the known oldest cougar population: the Patagonia Cougar. I also had to use as reference the Amazon and central American population of cougars, which are more slim. @8Bit_Satyr on twitter helped me through this by providing the very different colorations and patterns found through cougar's wide distribution, helping me to get a better view of what i wanted to implement and add an artistic touch.
