To be clear, we're an interest group, not formal advisors or anything. We advocate within the party on technology issues, and propose positions, but we don't decide official party policy. As you'd imagine, that requires an extensive consensus process available to all party members.

Heh. I had to look up these terms. I can't speak for all the 180-odd members, but as convenor I've yet to meet anyone who expressed a positive view about cryptocurrency or blockchain in general really. I think it's safe to say that the general vibe is Cory Doctorow/Paris Marx/Emily Bender.

I believe what's behind this is that Green MP Celia Wade-Brown attended a meeting of DAWG at their invitation. Celia holds the Digitising Government portfolio.

As far as I know, that's all they're basing their claim of “support” on.
