Sometimes when I’m real tired and don’t have the energy to work out, I force myself to anyway, and then I have more energy afterward for the rest of the day. Some might say this violates the laws of thermodynamics.

Recently saw AI-generated front end code where someone asked it for links to change colors when hovered.

The way to do this is with :hover in CSS. You get performance, transitions, simplicity, compatibility, all for free.

AI used JS mouseenter and mouseleave event listeners to add/remove styles 🙃

And inexpert use of genAI will 100% make this worse. I’m already having to spend my time fixing it in other people’s code.

Hi, John - I’m sending an email your way. I’d be glad to help.

It’s all written so dismissively, as if these “hysterical” women couldn’t have possibly had the intelligence and wisdom to know exactly what we are up against — clearly it was just a coincidence that they were right this time.

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings professionally, and there are a lot of plates that I remember very fondly.

Oh, I love this. It’s so much better than telling people who are drowning in sleep deprivation that “ohh, you’re gonna miss this!”

I still remember sitting in my friend’s basement and listening to that whole CD for the first time together. Formative experience.

…is there an opportunity here to Lysistrata these people into being halfway decent human beings?

They do look good! We’ve got the same color cabinets and are trying to embrace them rather than replace or paint them since all the doors and trim in the house is also brown, but the countertops are gonna need replacing somewhat soon.

I had the same one — managed to get a pop tab all the way down into the impeller and burnt out the motor to the drain pump, but thankfully it was a $20 fix (albeit with a fair bit of fiddly disassembly)

My 7yos also thoroughly enjoyed Flubber recently, which holds up surprisingly well!

When someone says something rude, racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc in public I like to drop an “ope! Those are inside thoughts, friend!” or a “wow! what a thing to say out loud!”

I have that mutation, eat tortillas, and take a multivitamin that has folic acid in it.

Guess my bloodstream’s just built different and can handle all those “toxins”

Taking this as another sign that I’m fortunate to work where I do. We’ve got access to the tools; we’re allowed to use them and experiment; and we’re allowed to _not_ incorporate them into our workflow if we don’t feel the need to.
