It wasn’t rocket science. Dems needed a candidate who cd sway enough Blue Wall moderate or right leaning voters. Knowing that the party nominated a CA politician who is clearly competent but who has always struggled with campaigning & who isn’t even popular in her home state.

Ehh. She really wasn’t that great of a candidate. She just does not have the ability to connect or communicate with people. She was the only issue with the Dem campaign approach - maybe not even the biggest 1 - but she didn’t help.

Who is going to teach them?

I’m giving Bluesky a try but so far it is far less interesting.

It’s very bland & there isn’t nearly as much engagement with ideas. Twitter is a dumpster fire but u can have dialogues with different viewpoints, people who see things differently than u.

That’s not really happening yet on Bluesky.

I know very few who blindly support him. Almost everyone I know who voted Trump & most I know who support him have issue with him.

We live in a democracy. The only way forward is to change people's minds. We can do that, but it will take a different approach than what we have been using. We need to stop attacking or assuming the worst in others. We need to allow dialogue where people can ask questions & raise concerns.

What narrative?

I am concerned ab how people view the trans community. U sd be too. That's where ground is won or lost. If we stay put or regress as we circle the wagons, who loses? Not us, probably, but tans kids will.

The best thing we can do for them is help others see the issue differently.

I define MAGA as anyone who supports Trump, not just votes for him.

I know quite a few who support him, but don't love him. They see him as a flawed necessity. They wear the hat & take joy in celebrating the policy pieces they think r right, & share concerns ab the pieces that give them pause.

Fair enough. I wd define MAGA differently but I respect where ur coming from.

Look, I don’t know u. But this type of approach is not helping anyone. Unless u r a troll & doing this on purpose, u r hurting the very people that you’re trying to help.

You googled a story that is clearly anti-trans to prove what exactly? That they got a detail in the story wrong? Your focusing on the wrong thing. You are so quick to assume people have bad intentions that it has corrupted you.

Mostly what we do is tear down those who don’t understand or question things. How is that going to grow our coalition? How do we fight MAGA that way?

Stop approaching these conversations expecting the worst. I am not ur enemy, & more importantly nor r most who feel differently than us.

I want things to improve for the trans community. I want to dialogue with people who r interested in that. How do we approach this issue to help others understand this complicated issue? What we have been doing is not working, obviously.

Stop & think about what u r doing here. I support this girl. I am not her enemy. As far as I know, most of the town supports her. My contributions to this dialogue r not an attack.

The MAGA I know r not hateful people. I know they exist but I think most who voted for Trump did so bc they didn’t see what Dems offered that was better. That doesn’t make them evil.
