The other side is that most power generation involves spinning things and that's very easy to turn into three phase AC. But neither thing has anything to do with how electrons behave in the wire (except the skin effect i guess)

Yeah, it's a common misunderstanding. AC transmission actually has *more* losses than DC, largely due to the skin effect. It just took until the 90s for semiconductors to be able to match the effectiveness of a piece of scrap metal with two wires wrapped around it.

I don't know about how things are today, but when I was more closely following the alt-right, "disavow" became a dogwhistle for anything that would make them look bad. I've seen open nazis, at nazi rallies, mutter "disavow disavow" when other people were too conspicuous and brought nazi flags.
