Exploring site quality WITHOUT AGE!⏰

We implemented a way to characterize productivity for structurally complex #forests

Using annual height increments, we made an age-independent growth rate index for spatially explicit monitoring of site quality

Harmonization is important! 🚨

Height increments derived from harmonized lidar were on average 37% greater than non-harmonized data

Harmonization has implications when using multi-temporal lidar for forest growth monitoring and modelling.

Multitemporal lidar enables forest growth & dynamics analysis - but has challenges!

🌲 Ways we aim to enhance forest growth models:

◾Examining the impact of pre-processing to harmonize multi-temporal lidar from different sensors
◾Developing flexible methods adapted to complex forest structures
